My contact at efficient.com has said this:

###
There are two popular protocols for rolling out
internet access over ADSL:

  RFC1483 Bridged Ethernet
  RFC2364 PPP over AAL5

In the case of the SS3020 (PCI ATM/ADSL card):

If RFC1483 is used, the card looks exactly like
  an ethernet adapter.

If RFC2364 is used, the cards looks exactly like
a modem - the PPP stack from Microsoft is used
and our low-level device driver "spoofs" the
  MS-OS into believing our SS3020 is a high-speed
  ISDN device.
###

Does anyone know which protocol will be used?
