Port 22 is ssh - secure shell, an encrypted login with the ability to tunnel
ports & X sessions transarently

I ssh to my home machine & run X apps thru the ssh tunnel - it's nearly as fast
as being on the lan here at work, and my home machine is much faster than my
work laptop :)

I also pinhole 113 back to my box for ident/auth

I have no idea why quake isn't working for you - I have tested
quake/quakeworld/quake2/half-life (fairly thoroughly, all in the cause of work
of course...;)) under Linux & Winblows with no problems really

cheers
