Inconvenient, increases DNS traffic a bit, but no show stopper.

I use www.ez-ip.net. Register at the site, and then use a cron job or other
to execute:

lynx -dump -auth=hamish:password
'http://www.ez-ip.net/members/update/?mode=update&url=&host='

For free you get a 15 minute TTL, ie, the IP address the request comes from
will be updated every 15 minutes, ie, your ADSL router (after NAT).

If you have a domain, I used a CNAME resource record to map
dynamic.macewan.gen.nz to hamish.dyn.ez-ip.net.

Mark, you might want to consider adding this to the FAQ, if there is interest
then I would be prepared to expand on the points here.

This should work OK under FreeBSD, my brief testing was with Linux <grin>.
