I was reading a Computer World article tonight, perhaps dated last
week. It quoted some Telecom person saying that most of the trialists
did not exceed the 300M limit. And that those that did were
continuously streaming video or downloading huge amounts of graphics.
 I don't believe that. Not for an instant.

Telecom don't know who downloaded what. Telecom know how much
was downloaded and how many machines were on the net at that time.
Telecom then dervived the stats. I think it was "70% were under 300M".
 Well, is that 70% of all trialists or just 70% of the people on the net at
that time?

Regardless of the answer, I feel the stats are at best inaccurate, at
worst outright misleading. As for the comment made by the Telecom
person, it may be called "marketing" or "PR" but anyone that would join
ADSL based on that would find out the truth soon enough. How many
people know how much they download when using a modem? I think
they will be very surprised.

Also, I would like to see stats now that tell us how much each user
downloads. I don't need to see IPs or names. Just User 1 - x M. etc.
I highly doubt that 70% of people will be under 300M and use the net
ever day. Which, IMHO, the majority of ADSL users do. We are, for a
significant portion, highly technical and not your "average" user.

That sounds like me! When do they start? FWIW, I got Saturn as soon
as it was available merely for the hope they would do cable modems. I'll
be checking them out ASAP.

Does anyone have a telephone number or expected launch date? Last I
heard, they were just finishing off the billing system and that was their
last hurdle.
