Yes, I echo the thanks for Dan and those who turned up. I know that our comments will have a positive effect.
I think I can sum up the main issues as being...

1. Traffic price differential - ISP / national / international
2. Who bills for traffic - the ISP or Telecom
3. Limited number of pinholes in the M10's
4. Static / Dynamic IP's

Of these I think the first one is the top of most peoples list, the second is something we are actively discussing with ISP's and the third I will persue with Nokia. The last one depends on what you require and whether the fairly static 'dynamic' IP's that you are allocated currently are sufficient to meet your needs.

I think most people agreed that usage charging was OK and it was more important that it was differentiated between within the ISP, National and International traffic.

Thanks,

Mark Barlow :-)

Thanks to Dan & Synergy, for the invitation and venue, and to Telecom for
coming along to what was at best likely to be an unruly meeting. While I too
would have liked to have seen more users, I was very pleased to see Shane Cole
from Paradise turn up to share his perspective as an ISP operator, one who has
experience with most of the access options, particularly those peculiar, at
this time, to Wellington.

I think there was a good discussion and a pretty clear indication of the areas
of concern, some of which, it appears there was a pretty good consensus, would
be addressed by time and experience.

And though late, I wasn't in *too* much trouble <grin>.

Hamish.
