My understanding is that if you are not prepared to give a static IP (for
whatever reason) you use PPP. That way you interface to the same (ie
already existing and payed for) security (PAP) and accounting system
used by the dailup users. This is what I was trying to find out more
about in the meeting when I was asking about PPP....
