Could this be traffic volume related?

My box has not no change of IP for about 2 weeks. But my connection gets a
steady stream of low volume data (aka IRC traffic). Could that have a factor?

Has your box been rebooting? There was a power failure last night. Can't remember
where. It was related to the electrical storm.
