Yep... I'm not saying that the M10 knows what the address is (or that it
even needs to).. It seems to me that the card/port/interface at the other
end of the phoneline is the component that must communicate with the rest
of the network and therefore it must have a mac address.
Like the M10 the phone line and the DSLAM interface are one virtual
machine and we only get to see the top layers when interogating the M10.
There is still a mac address that is the IP address is bound to... we just
can't find outwhat it is. doesn't mean Telecom can't.
This make more sense?
