Hi Willem and welcome to the list.

I've thought about this. There are two things we need to know in order to get
NetMeeting going. First, we need to know what ports it uses. I assume you
and everyone else that has tried NM has already done this.

The other thing you need to do is let through protocols through your modem.
Your modem has an http interface on it. I suggest you start your broswer and
look at http://192.168.1.254. You will asked for a user name / password. Use
anything for the username and "Telecom" (case sensitive) for the password.

Then click on Pinholes. You need to add the NetMeeting port entries here.

I assume all NM wanna-bes have also tried the above.

A short search via www.dejanews.com and I found the following relevent articles:

this one mentions a Nokia M10 Router:
http://x23.deja.com/[ST_rn=ps]/getdoc.xp?AN=497581894.1&CONTEXT=931301126.800063581&hitnum=1

In this article, it mentions the following:

"In H.323, the standard protocol that NetMeeting uses for audio and video, only
the first port number (1720) is static. After the initial connection, a dynamically
assigned TCP port number is negotiated for some more control data to be exchanged.
"

The Nokia M10 has only 8 pinholes. Given that NetMeeting has no set ports (a
defect, not a feature in my opinion), I don't know how to get NetMeeting to
work. This doesn't mean it can't be done.

I've sent a message to the poster of the message to see if they've made any
progress.

The above talks about how to get NM to work behind a true firewall. The Nokia
M10 is not a firewall, it's a router. Well, it might be a firewall but for
all we can see, it's just a router.

Also, I found mention that if you initiate the call, things should be fine.
 But you cannot receive calls.

In my opinion, what we need is the ability to allow all routing through the
modem. At present it is a "deny all" (standard and sound security) but what
you need is an "accept all" (much more insecure).

FWIW: this NM problem appears to be universal. Everyone sitting behind a firewall
is presented with the same problem. It is a problem associated with firewalls.
By their nature, firewalls block things.

The issue at stake seems to be the negotiated ports. If the Noka M10 allowed
all ports through, I think it would solve the problem. But at the same time,
it would reduce your security.
