Initial rollout phase through to March 2000 in selected major cities for
flat-rate always-on service; 400 local exchanges to be upgraded, giving a
reach of almost 6 million homes and businesses. BT will be selling
wholesale to ISPs at around £40 up to £150 pcm per user for 512Kbps
up to
2Mbps downstream and 256Kbps upstream service, with retail prices to
be
determined by the service providers.
