Where did you read that? In the letter? If so, I must have a background process
which filters out such stuff.

Well, FYI, my plan is to wait until things settle. Saturn haven't been going
that long and I suspect demand will increase as word-of-mouth advertising takes
over.[1] I won't make any plans to change/stay until after Labour weekend.
Also, that installation fee is going to be a killer. I have yet to measure
the list traffic.[2] But the differences between Saturn and XTRA pricing[3]
at present means I pay ten times more for mailing list traffic with XTRA than
I would pay under Saturn[4]. Not to mention the static IP.[5]

But we'll see what offers XTRA have to counter what I think is a flood of Saturn
connections.

[1] - For example, I know three people at my present client who have taken up
a cable modem in the past three weeks. All have installed firewalls, running
on FreeBSD of course ;).

[2] - A gut feel is that it doesn't contribute much to my volume. At 70 people,
perhaps 10 messages on an average day, that's 700 mail messages daily or about
21,000 messages a month. A guess of 2.5KB per message, that's just over 50MB.
 That's not much at all.

[3] - XTRA charge $0.35 per MB regardless of destination. Saturn change $0.35
per MB for international and $0.035 for domestic [based on IP number]

[4] - There are a few non .nz list addresses, but the majority of these are
NZ hosted. A couple of people are using the likes of hotmail, but that's less
than 5% of the list traffic.

[5] - As I have mentioned before, I'm keen to try out vanity domains. I'd like
to be on IRC using something like

 i.am.helpless@using.unixathome.org

And with Paradise, I believe that can be done. Not sure. Can anyone confirm?
