I know Shane at Patadise.Net is working on it, so wait until he announces
it.

Ahh Harold
The answer is quite simple - support for my incredible laziness.
It is also an XTRA charge -rather than a telecom one per se.
As I haven't gotten arround to parking my domain name with someone else
and getting ddns set up I get billed for it from them. It really needs to
change as a multidrop wild card pop does not work that well.
Of coure another as an ISP on the Jetstream(tm) they could in theory set
it up to have their DNS records correctly do the lookups and be updated by
something like the shell scripts discussed. This would have the advantage
of being able to correctly update the reverse DNS entries that some mail
transfer agents are requiring to accept email. Anyone know if Paradise or
world net are doing that?
