The following was sent to me by a list member within Telecom.

The original M10's were supplied with V2.0 software. The Vendor identified
some internal problems with this release and upgraded Telecom's modems to V2.2
Build 5.0.1R0.

After a software upgrade to another device in the network issues were identified
with the 501R0 software. This exhibited faults of link dropping and internal
lockup under some authentication conditions. The cause for this could not be
clearly identified. As part of the diagnosis an emergency
patch, release 5.1.0R0, was loaded into several modems known to be most affected.

In parallel with this the Vendor produced a fully regression tested version
of the software and this is release V2.2 5.1.3R2. Please note 510.R0 did not
address all the problems
and was an emergency release to assist in identifying the cause of problems.

The ONLY version of software that is compatible with the Telecom network is
V2.2 5.2.3R0. Any earlier version will have problems. The most common symptoms
are loss of connection
with automatic re-authentication or loss of connection and internal lockup.
The only clearance for this is to power down for up to 5 mins and then try again.
