You cant't see your internal machine at the external IP address
from the inside.
That means that if you do have pinholes set up for say 80 -81 to
allow
a web server through then people on the outside will be avle to
see the web server but people onthe inside will nedd to type in
the IP address of the
actual machine running the server.
If you are running a web server try getting netcraft to determine
what it is alternatively ask one of us to try to reach a web page
or telnet in.
A couple of questions
Which version of the M10 are you using if you click on status in
the monitor
it should give you something like
status
Terminal shell v1.0
Nokia M10 multiport ADSL router / bridge
Running Nokia M10 software version 5.1.3 (build R2)
(m10 completed login: user administrator level)
Serial number J1990703729 , CPU MPC860SAR, firmware 2.2
Product ID T66160.09 A
Error logger message counts:
Low 0, Medium 0, High 69, Warning 42, Lost 0, Total 111
Boot state: running in dram
Uptime 00:11:34:05
When you lost connectivity (or if you are still down and are
using
an alternate connection method) what did it say in the IP
Iinterfaces part for
your IP address. If it gave you a real IP address similar to
210.55.x.x as opposed to 0.0.0.0 then you should be connected.
If it says 0.0.0.0 have
a look at the log by clicking show status and see if you can see
any
repeated groups of statements.
Also try powercycling the modem after you have changed the
entries to match
Dan's page. I was getting very frequent disconnects until a
little after 21h00
last night but I seem to be clean since I actually switched the
modem off and
on again.
