Oooo... what do you use to check that? I've got a Windows proggy (getif)
that'll read the interface etc. data, but it'd be nice to trap it.

Just had a call from Jerry at Telecom/Jetstream, and I mentioned the
performance I'm getting -- ~230KBps on local downloads. He thought that was
too low, 500 to 800KBps is what I should be seeing. Told me to ring 120 and
have the check the line for faults, and what do you know? there was a
"definitive outside fault" on the line according to the operator. They'll be
fixing it tomorrow morning, so with any luck I should get a performance
hike... :-)
