Yep, the supplied blue cable is a crossover...eg the transmit and receive
pairs are crossed (pin 1-3, 2-6, 3-1, 6-2), or MDI/X in hub speak.

This is correct for use between two MDI devices, (2 computers, or router and
PC).

Since hub ports are already MDI/X, you've just re-crossed it!

Some hubs have a link port designed for interlinking hubs with a standard
cable, which is switchable between MDI and MDI/X.
