Hi.
In regards to NetMeeting issues, I'm currently pursuing this. I have
not been on this adsl list long, so I'm coming in late.

My scenario is that I have ADSL in San Francisco.
I've been delegated one static ip address out of a /24.
I use FreeBSD ipfw/natd as my gateway to my private network.
Internally, I have a mix of the following systems: FreeBSD, Win98,
and WinNT4. Win98 has a USB camera.

Thus, we have interest in pursuing a videoconferencing solution.
I'm attacking this from two angles:
 A) arriving at a point-to-point IP videoconferecing solution
 B) using `natd -redirect_port` to allow operation of NetMeeting as
    necessary.

As of yesterday, I have a running thread on freebsd-questions. When I
find a soluition, I will post to both lists. If you care to read the
thread, search with Google or Deja.

On point A, Matt from UCSF recommended using the non-H.323 iVisit
product (http://iVisit.com), and it is an acceptable solution for me.
It was developed by Tim Dorcey, the former Cornell University
technology developer (maybe behind CU-SeeMe).

Regarding point B, I will share the following URL's:
http://www.shenton.org/~chris/nasa-hq/netmeeting/
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/NetMeeting/Corp/reskit/Chapter4/default.asp
http://www.winroute.com/manual/v4.0r/index.htm
http://www.openh323.org/

I suspect that using `natd -redirect_port` has a limitation of allowing
only one static session at a time, though I do not have experience
with this yet.

I have not tested OpenH323. I suspect this is a solution only for the
gateway/firewall/router box in my scenario with a camera directly attached.
One of the features is "Gatekeeper (RAS) client support", though I
feel gateway support should be implemented in natd.

I'm going to test ICUii this week. According to Bhishan Hemrajani, "I
recommend www.icuii.com. Just redirect port 2000-2038 for the ports
and it will work".

I'm off to read the ITU spec drafts.
Again, I'll follow-up with a conclusion soon.
