I agree the email software leaves a lot to be desired. I usually hit "reply
to all" and then delete all but the list address manually (outlook 97).

As far as a 2k message stealing bandwidth, Its not so much it slowoing
anything down, more the fact that it adds up after a while and there is a
monthly limit on volume......and its hard enought keeping track of a few
mailing lists let alone having two copies of messages.

We don't need to dwell on this too long I think, I've drawn it to peoples
attention, its up to others' sense of etiquette now.

My atention bandwidth is a lot more limited than my computer's bandwidth.
And it pisses me off when I write a reply to the personal mail, only to
find the list copy of the email turning up seconds later.

I confess that I sometimes send both to the list and to the person. This
happens because of !@#@#$%$^ list software that puts the Reply-to as the
author not the list, and I almost always want to reply to the list but
sometimes forget to change it the first time (and then ten minutes later
wonder why my message hasn't turned up on the list).
