Of course if the printer is attached to a Windows NT machine, then you can
install the same TCPIP Printing feature to share it as an lpd printer. For
the non-*nix person this might a better route.

If you don't have a network enabled printer (ie one with an ethernet
interface) then you can use an old 486 and a product called freesco
(www.freesco.org) to make a lpr print server...
