Dear All,

We have a nokia M10 box running into Xtra and it is now set up with a static
IP. Previous to this we had to use a dail-up with static IP to get to our
boxes' FTP server in the US. As far as anyone can determine ftp on the ADSL
link before the change to static was OK although we can't be certain.

However now it is not, and an attempt to test it with clients set to PASV
has proven fruitless. CuteFTP baulks all the time and other are not much
better (and anyway concealed by automatic re-logging). Our real problem is
with the MS ftp command line client which we have to use with our scripts
and with the client built into Cold Fusion over which we have no control.
Non PASV works as well as PASV...for a few seconds at most.

I have the suspicion that the packet inspection system firewall (NAT) built
into the Nokia M10 modem is timing out the return packets and removing the
reference to them so they are denied. Is this the case and if so is there a
fix.

Regards

Julian Warren
