We're actually in the Wgtn. CBD area and the exchange is only about 40
meters from our offices! Don't think it could be our phone lines either...
we'll see what happens after 2 days anyway.

.sounds like you are either borderline distance from the exchange or you
have wiring problems(phone) in your house..(old or dodgy connections)
i had both problems when i first started but since then its been fine
