sounds like the sort of behaviour ms got rumbled for by the federal court in the us recently.

I understand the Chello contract specifically forbids connecting a PC
with any other network connection. I also understand it mandates the
use of a M$ windows operating system - possibly to enable them to
enforce the earlier restriction.

So for those of us with home LANs and/or open source OS's, I guess we're
stuck with what we've got for the moment.
