they claim that the WLAN is secured with WEP (Wireline Equivalent Privacy).

Obviously this needs challenging before security can be assured.

No... why? I thought the wireless signal was encrypted?

Oh, you mean that you can't firewall the systems using wireless
connections? Shouldn't matter too much, provided the MW1122 offers at
least rudimentary IP management capabilities.
