Those thinkering marketing elves at Telecom have come up with a 'special
offer' which is $49 for 400 megs. Doesn't look anything special but I
spose if it brings in more subscribers then it's achieved its purpose.

Telecom have done their stress test on the network with that two months
flat rate (almost over anyway) and their ATN doesn't seem to have
collapsed in a quivering heap; mightn't be any harm in increasing the
caps on data. We can only hope that Jetstream devision wins the
interdepartmental war between the DDS, ISDN, and frame relay department,
so the prices aren't so needlessly inflated.

What would appeal to the gamers is to allow free traffic to other gaming
servers (Xtra quakeworld, ihug games.gen.nz servers) as well as the
current paradise and jetstreamgames ones. I'm sure this question has
been raised before, but why not the other gaming servers? I can only
assume it's because Ihug or xtra aren't prepared to support the no-cost
traffic peering on to the DSL network :/
