Gotcha! I mis-read your problem.

One thing that springs to mind is using the "DHCP Client ID" field to specify a
client ID for each laptop. Then configure the local DHCP server to assign a
static IP for that client ID and configure AUCK server to ignore that client ID
and use dynamic IP.

Problem is that the DHCP server for linux doesn't yet support that (coming soon
apparently) and I know very little about the M11 DHCP server.
