50,000 bits/s = 6,250 bytes/s is a good speed for 56K modems.

That's = 375,000 B/s

Or =~ 21.45MB/h

Or =~5GB/month, based on 12 hours and 20 days. Bit optimistic to expect max
speed, however, so 2.5GB is probably more realistic.

$5 per GB isn't bad though. On my Jetstream 1500 plan, 5GB would cost me
$921.60 in excess volume charges, if I went over my normal allocation at 7.5
cents a MB.
