I tried the same thing, swapping the modem, but it didn't work.
Probably because the new modem isn't compatible with the old
non-standard signalling

Can the M1122 be used before the exchange upgrade? From reading
the instructions, it appears we can.

In any case, how long can we expect service to be interrupted during
the exchange upgrade?
