As a relative new comer who hasn't had a chance to read the archives just
yet, I have a question.
We have an especially paranoid client who is having ADSL installed. However,
they are also flying in some consultant from the US to install Checkpoint.
This consultant has insisted that the second network card in the server, the
one that plugs into the modem, has a public IP address and he would prefer
if NAT were turned off at the modem. Is this possible? Through some of the
discussions we have had here about the only way to do it would be to give
the modem's internal interface a public IP address and leave NAT on, but
that really is pointless.
Any help?
