  Subject: FTP Troubles

Last night i was about to download a reasonably large file
using FTP, with a spare 300mb for my monthly allowance
i thought it would be a great idea.

I started off the download which appeard to be a little
slugish at first then it stabilised at around 20k/s

Sometime during the night the download stopped and
my ftp client reset itself and tried again, then again, then
  again...

The reason for termination seems to be a broken pipe
somewhere between here and the FTP server but im not
totally sure on that, however as a result of this
the fault caused my allowance to go way over the top

Is anyone aware of an easier way or more reliable way to
  do this?.

Also the file that was being ftp'ed seems to have gotten
corrupted on the way so i guess im going to have to do it
  all over again.

  400mb of wasted data!

  Andrew
