  Yes. As far as the Linux (or any other OS) box is concerned, the
situation is exactly the same as it would be with an ordinary analog
modem. But faster.

  Of course, since the ADSL connection is likely to be up all the time,
having decent firewalling in place is even more important than it is on a
dialup connection, but that's the case for any Internet-visible system
that's always connected anyway.
