Subject: Firewall mini-linux product and Where to buy adsl 3com dual
link
Has anyone tried out clark connect (www.clarkconnect.com), its a mini
distro/firewall based on redhat 6.2 and includes roaring penguin PPPoE. It
also appears to have some groovy windows based tools to administer and
monitor the link. After perusing the lists and noting the comments about
the 3com dual link and PPPoE, it may be a good choice as a quick firewall,
as most of the setup, culling unnecessary packages etc has been done. You
can add other redhat packages if you desire.
I have downloaded the iso and mounted it as a loop device. The windows
programs, the pdf manual and the linux rpm's and installer are all there. I
do not have a cd-writer but may try installing on a spare 486 over the
network using the loopback mount.
Which brings me to the other question - wheres the cheapest place to buy
one of these dual link modems? ( I assume I am correctly describing the
modem that lets you acheive the public ip on your linux machine).
Oh and here are the 3com manuals, including one for the command line
interface.

Dan: should these go on your docs page?
Thanks, Nick
