I guess I tend to forget about the games context. Even so with jetstream
standard internet traffic has alway been charged based on the port in the
exchange.
The games context merely sitches off the charging for the line whilst
logged in to it. Your ISP never sees anything to do with that transaction
except possibly that you are no longer authinticating against them.

what is after the @ effectively the bit where telecom routes to
the ISP equivalent.
It is still the case though that telecom does not charge you based on your
login. Rather it is the combination of your line number and context.
