I'm not actually complaining about it, the thought of databases that can
only be updated at a specific time amuses me (and brings out the worst, I
guess)

It seems to be a common thing though... I'm told that Xtra only make DNS
changes at a specific time of the day (I guess they organise a big DNS-run).

Do you have a process to accept suggestions from the list members? I've
seen some excellent ideas pass through. I'm not talking about a customer
service rep answering calls and vaguely noting down suggestions, I think a
technical suggestion box that can be looked through by someone with a good
understanding of Telecom's DSL implementation would be better...
Since you read the list, I'm assuming you can already do it unofficially,
but it would be nice if everyone knew there was a place they could propose
better solutions/possibilities.

Any chance of an answer here, or is that a secret? If Telecom would provide
a decent flatrate 256k solution, I'd swallow my pride and jump in straight
away.

I'd be willing to pay 2-3 times the price of 128k jetstart for it too. (Just
tried to find some comprehensive info on Jetstart prices, but I don't seem
to be able to just at the moment...)

The info I found says Jetstart is $30 per month + ISP charges, and a $178
install fee with no modem.

What I'd prefer to see is 256k, flat rate or capped at a decent limit for
home users (10Gb sounds OK to me), and the option to rent a DSL modem would
be nice... any chance of this coming up, or do I need to wait for the
competition to start offering better deals? ;)

I'd easily pay $100 per month for this (3 * jetstart + $10 modem rental?)...
Obviously there'd be another $20-30 charge from the ISP, but I'd be pretty
happy with paying that much for a decent connection.
