Hi,

I'm considering getting jetstart. I've been using linux for 4yrs and intend to
conitinue using it. I've found it difficult to get info on how Jetstart works.

Can I buy a ethernet modem (ie a box I plug into my ethernet card) and have
the following setup?

eth0 is the connection to the modem and hence telecom.

run pppeo over eth0 to paradise (my ISP)

so pppoe0 is the device that is my route to the internet?

I've had trouble finding this info on the telecom site. They keep talking about
ethernet modems that are actually NAT routers, but I don't want that. I want a
physical or software device on my machine that is the connection to the
internet so that I can set up my own firewall and home Lan router.

Thanks for any advice on weather this is possible and on which hardware to use.
