This isn't quite true. The latency does get worse when you max out the
connection, but it isn't anywhere near as bad as it is on a modem. It also
seems to be a bit variable, sometimes there doesn't seem to be any difference,
other times there does, I guess the difference between "very close to maxed
out" and "completely maxed out" is significant from the latency point of view.

With jetstream, you have the same problems, but even less so. And they only
start to show up when you max out the connection. I never noticed any problems
with jetstream while I had it, but then I never maxed it out, I have 5.5Mb/s,
and the fastest connection I had measured 350kB/s. I was using it on my own
with a ruinous data limit (400MB) so whatever I downloaded finished before I
could start something else.
