Wayne,

My commiserations on saving money by buying the 3Com.

I've wasted 3 full nights of my time just trying to get Win98 going with the
modem to verify that the modem and the ADSL line work with no luck. That's
before I start trying to replace my dial-up gateway with a PPPoE version.

I'd like to put a HOW-TO when its all going. Until then can I ask that you
post what you find out to this list?

It's probably worth starting by ensuring that the modem is set up correctly.
Can anyone on the list run the "show configuration script" option on a
working modem and post the output?

Rory
