I see your points here.. It would be in telecoms best interests, however if
you go to a search engine (in my case google) and search for VCI adsl NZ it
displays results that even the summary tell you what the VCI settings are.
For the others with the 3com dual link that installed the modem with the
default settings, the install process does say to contact your ADSL line
provider for this setting, when installing under unix, you wont get this
prompt (as there is no install process) however 3com never marketed the
modem to work under unix/linux.
