Good news everyone. It works. And it really is easy. If only the
suppliers would comply with the conditions of the Telepermit and put in
instructions to set it up for the Telecom New Zealand network.

Thanks to everyone who lent a hand.

By the way. The correct setting was PPPoA. It installed a dialler that I
could put my user ID and password in, and away it went. I think I was just
a bit impatient. The ADSL link light didn't come up within a minute, so I
thought it must be wrong.
