Hi all,

Well I failed to get the router working with my 3com dual link modem.
3com's proprietary pppoe format defeated me (3com changed certain
RFC-specified PPPOE parameters, and expect everyone else in the world to
comply with them).

The shagging around has all been too much for me, and I've decided in the
long run to get a combination modem+router device.

Meanwhile I have no use for my RT314 router.

If anyone is looking for a good, cheap router you're welcome to try it out.
If you find it works well in your system you can buy it from me for $417
(That's what I paid for it, overseas, I doubt you'll do any better in NZ).
If you don't like it, I'll happily take it back :o)

The RT314 is a 4-port router with NAT and firewall built in, manufactured by
Netgear (www.netgear.com). It is very, very configurable, and seems a fine
product (it just won't work with a 3com dual link modem).

Regards,
Chris Stott,
Auckland.
