This is also true, so we know which one it *isnt* :P

But try explaining that to the mum-with-two-kids-who-wants-fast-internet :)

To save a second posting im dumping this content here:

In rebuttal to comments made by other posters about the state of DSE's
inhouse product knowledge - Yes, in areas, its shocking. I should know :P
I was one of the 'resident experts' at a DSE store for nearly 4 years.

(To the point that Id get people coming to visit me on a Sunday (the only
day I worked at the time) because theyd been reccomended to do that earlier
in the week).

DSE staff are salespeople first and foremost; They are thrown onto the floor
with a tiny level of training and have to pick up things from product
launches / internal training / as you go . Its scary.

Its not fair to dis the staff members for not knowing - its not their fault.
The good ones try hard and learn quickly, but typically each store has one
or two people who are fairly with it on computers, - the odd store has
someone whos very good.

I personally think DSE should change the way it employs people in its
stores - a whole raft of ideas abound. Of course, it'll probably never
happen. :)

They have, however, headed down the right track with Vodafone and appointed
a store specialist for each store, and provided training...

Mark - ex DSE type.
