I wondered the same thing myself. The Cock Smith page seems to imply that
the modem will not work without windows, but that may just be the req's for
the dsl-on software, not the modem itself.
Someone else posted a link to these modems from infinilink (which are
apparently the same, rebadged by Nokia), and infinilink's page says it works
fine with linux, and assorted others.
Someone else has just posted saying they doubt the modem will work with
linux, so I guess it comes down to whether you trust that Nokia merely
rebadged the infinilink.
They look pretty similar to me in the pictures ;)
