And it's not entirely a humorous exercise. Despite having run unix
machines for most of the last decade, I've never used sendmail. One of
the strongest influences in that was reading messages from Chip
Salzenberg, who used to regularly reply to "how do I do X with
sendmail?" questions with "install smail; see <url>" in various unix
newsgroups. I've read enough about sendmail to not want to have to deal
with it (and I'm fortunately in an environment where my employer isn't
going to tell me to).
