Just to clear up this PPTP thing once and for all, this is what the ASUS
engineers had to say about why it won't work:

"The AAM6000EV cannot handle PPTP packets at the moment, which is a
limitation from our vendor. However, AAM6000EV can transmit PPTP packets
transparently, that is, simply treat them as IP packets. Then, users must
turn OFF NAT if they need to use PPTP. Consequently, users need to use real
IPs on the PCs beyond the ADSL modem."

Since NAT needs to be on in NZ, outbound PPTP connections are not possible
with the ASUS router.

Cheers,
Nik
