Have a look at www.dsl.nokia.co.nz on the FAQ page at the bottom for self
install filters. These can be used with any adsl router provided that they
are not filtering more than 5 extensions. It saves the customer the $79
charge - the filters are $20 rrp. In a business environment where dsl is
usually put on the fax line - this means the customer only buys one filter
- he saves $59. The $99 Telecom connection fee still applies.( that is for
the truck roll to the exchange to jumper the phone line)

Umm.. On the Order form I use it does have the option of self-installed
Filters.so it is a reconnised way of doing it. (As so says Telecom on the
guff they send out to ISPs). The Filters are really easy to install. You
use
1 on each JackPoint that has a Telephone. Just plug them in betwen jack
point+ telephone.
