Alcatel seems to be moving into a higher gear with a fax hit of hundreds of
dealers with some advertising about their SpeedTouch Pro. Its includes such
fun comments as:

If your customers are renting ADSL routers that exhibit any of the following
frustration's...

+ They have received a letter from the supplier or the manufacturer advising
them to return the unit for servicing due to a potential mains shock risk.
What do they do while it is away being serviced?

which seems very relevant to some of the current discussion on the list.
Wonder who is reading what? And the most entertaining:

+ Their current ADSL router constantly drops the line and won't re-connect
and technical support advises turning off the unit and letting it cool down
before trying again.

What modem of modem is this exactly? Not one I had heard on the list since I
started here. Is there some older model of ADSL modem that is this badly
made, or is this a dig at a particular manufacturer?

The fax also includes a plugs for LAN1's hot replacement spares, an 0800
number for support (0800 ALCATEL in case any is wondering 8-), and lots of
lovely marketing information about the Pro modem.

Cheers, Max.
