Hi Damon,

yeah it is possible, many SOHO networks use 2kpro in workgroup situation for
vpn access to there mini-lan. it does work but not really the goods for a
real network.

it depends on your network topology and type of network really, the vpn
demands, and security you want.

I would reccemend using win2kserver as the vpn server, best practice is not
to run it on the DC, or a win2kserver that is running NAT or a server
running many other network related servicies, usual story with MS stuff etc.

some people go for thirdy party vpn solutions aswell, that i cant speak for,
accept the use of linux box's in between etc.

A common senario i have deployed is:

 internet - cisco adsl -- linuxbox -- switch -- DC's and LAN's etc
                                        |
                             2kserver -vpn server

good luck

julian
