If there isn't any support already, and your friend is geek-inclined, he could
look at porting the linux pptp client to Mac OS X (its open source):

Otherwise I'd reccomend he goes for a generic ethernet DSL router (there are
many to choose from, all will work with Mac OS X as well as every other OS with
an IP stack and ethernet support).
