I do try hard! I did answwer the question honestly.

The upgrade is just a 'standard' rollout. It does not fix any faults
(because we don't have any outstanding ones with the ADSL) but does
allow the operation of some new card releases (mostly standard hardware
changes really) including G.SHDSL.

In short - nothing special or sinister.
