For those of you who connect through to jetstreamgames instead of using your
jetstart/jetstream account (to avoid bandwidth charges/capping), you may
notice that you get one of those globally unroutable addresses (something in
192.168.x.y) on your DSL modem. This may cause issues when you're setting up
a firewall, since a common rule is to deny everything that appears to be
coming from a private network range through your modem. This stops
source-spoofed packets that appear to come from a host on your LAN, but are
in fact from outside.
So if, like me, you had a rule blocking all 192.168.0.0/16 traffic coming in
off the DSL modem, you may find it a little hard to play CounterStrike via
JetstreamGames.
