You can get a line test speed at http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/.
Very helpful to check if your jetstart connection is doing 128K or close
to it

Subject: Is This normal with Jetstart??
Last week finally I got Jetstart up and running no thanx to Xtra and
their
slowness at setting up my account. I used the Dynalink RTA020 router.
Real
easy to set up. However last Thursday the first day that it was on I
was
impressed with it's speed. It compared favorably to our Jetstream
where I
work. It was much the same. However the next day and ever since it's
been
as slow as a dog. Only slightly better than my modem on file down
loads. Normal surfing, email and news groups it's fine but file
transfer
is another story.
I seem to remember some else posting the similar comments some weeks
ago.
Does Xtra give you the carrot of Jetstream for the first 24 hours then
throttle it back after that to the 128 K speed??
